Seeker In Need Of A Good Storyline

by S Lange

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This story had the bones to be good, unfortunately serious editing issues plus the constant jumping around from one perspective to another made the story a chore to read and wouldn’t allow you to make any real connections from the characters.

The beginning of the book as it established the characters and the parts they were all to play in this story was a little intriguing. However the story kept flipping back and forth to past moments and at times it was difficult to tell who was having the thoughts and who was speaking. The constant shifting of perspective was not an effective tool for adding suspense. It just made for confusion and a certain distance between the reader and the characters.

There are a few good moments but nothing to really get excited about. The plot a bit convoluted and the ending very implausible, a rewrite plus a good editor would help the book a lot. Don’t jump around so much, allow the readers to connect with the characters, do a little more research on military maneuvers and you will have a better story.

As I love sci-fi, I wanted to like this book more than I did. I think it shows promise and could definitely be better, but as it is now, the characters are kind of flat, the story is a little predictable, and I found myself wanting more from it.
