I watched her with rapt attention. Most of the time I spent with Lori, I wasn’t making rational decisions. Could be because I was a man after all, and she was really pretty…not just pretty--she’s beautiful, smart, witty, sweet…perfect. And an innocent, inexperienced virgin.
We have no secrets, and we never lie to each other; but Lorraine Dawes is my best friend and I’ve been in love with her since I was fifteen years old--since I even knew what love was.
To top it off, she is moving in with me for six months.
Then she makes this Virgin Manifesto, talking about how she wants to 'give it up' to the best volunteer. 'And I'm the best one.
You know, normal stuff.

A Very Enjoyable Book from Bri Stone

This is my first book by Bri Stone and most definitely will not be my last. This is a really great book with a brilliant storyline that will pull you into it and you can't put it down. The characters Dillon & Lorraine were well written and they had great chemistry and interaction. Their story has plenty of ups and downs that will keep you on your toes and engrossed in their story. This book is a brilliant friends to lovers Romance and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I can't wait to read more from Bri Stone

Realistically sweet

by Che

There are only few books that was based on the POV of a guy. It was rather cute for me - the guy narrating. At first the story did drag on till it paced on the middle part then a bit rushed till the end. I guess its reasonable being it was the story of two high school "best friends" turned to adult "lovers" story - there's no need to elaborate on the character development on the H and h. I have to admit this a more realistic story of how both people would react/reacted on each circumstance, not way too dreamy stuff and such. I would really "pin" for the Dillon.

I'm not into spoilers, but I would really recommend this book for all readers out there who loves these "friends-to-lovers" stories. And I would love to read more from the author.

A good friends-to-lovers story

There are a lot of good things to like about this story. I am partial to the friends-to-lovers trope, probably ranking it at the top of my favorite ways to lead to romance. This story showed a good progression between life long friends. Dillon was very easy for the reader to fall in love with, especially since the story was presented in his single POV. However, Lori got on my nerves a few times. New Adult is not where I spend much reading hours, so it could be the fact that she was so young. But since she and Dillon were both the same age, that may not be the case. I also liked the family dynamics, especially between Dillon and his mom. Very sweet. I was very satisfied with the epilogue and felt the heat level and language were right on target, at least for me. I would easily give the idea of the story and the story arc a solid four stars. Where I dropped back to a three was the readability. It took me a bit to get into it and the first page did not settle me in to what was happening. After finishing the book, I went back to the beginning and felt better about it, but that is not how one reads a book. There were also a fair amount of instances where I was confused about who was speaking. There is a LOT of dialogue, which I really like. I eventually became more used to how the text was being written, but it was not always crystal clear. Also, personally, I like going in knowing that there is only going to be one POV. It is not my favorite style and, honestly, only read them if it is the hero's POV...which this is. All in all, my interest was maintained and I enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend it to New Adult fans interested in friends-to-lovers romance.

Loved!

Such a great story! Love the friends to lover trope, and this book flowed really well. The transition/chase etc was very realistic and fresh never forced. Bonus for being in first person PoV, as that helps me get into the character's head!

Best friends or lovers

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The only reason I gave it 3 1/2 stars instead of 4 was because it took a good bit to get to the main point of the book. Loved the interaction between the two as friends. Love the mix of family, friendship, humor, and romance in this book. I just wish it would have been more of the arguing/trying to get the other to fall in love with them/internal struggle parts!! I will definitely read more from this author!

This was a book that held your I interest through out. Love comes from some of the most unusual place. Lori and Dillon were just friends. Sometimes Lori just needed her nest friend in more ways than to lean. Dillon was a charmer. The book is a great read.
