I have been writing consistently since the age of thirteen and won my first award, The SA Navy League Competition, when I was fifteen. I won my next award, the Penguin South Africa Short Story Competition in 1997. I am am passionate about writing and write at least a thousand words a day. I write secular fiction and Christian non-fiction. I publish my secular fiction under the nom de plume A.A. Allen and my non-fiction under the nom de plume John Tyrone.
