K.N. Blackburn was born and raised in a small town in southern Michigan surrounded by cows and cornfields. She fell in love with books and reading at a young age and spent hours reading stretched out on the window seat of the old Victorian home she grew up in. She always knew she was creative, but had a hard time finding the outlet that fit her best. After brief stints with dancing, figure skating, acting, and modeling, she finally settled on a career in the beauty industry, where she could combine her creativity with the desire to help people see the best in themselves.
She graduated from Michigan College of Beauty and worked as a licensed hair stylist until giving birth to her two children, when she decided to give up everything to become a stay at home mom. One day, while her youngest was napping, she sat down at the computer and began typing. There was no going back. These days, you can find her typing frantically on her laptop, sipping Faygo, belting Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ at the top of her lungs, and using her hand as a map to show people where she lives. Hold My Heart is her debut novel.
