Though Kathryn R. Blake only began writing spanking romances (a romance where spankings serve as pivotal moments in the plot) in 2010, most of her stories contain scenes where the hero spanks the heroine. To date, all of her heroes are Dominant, alpha males who are extremely protective of the women they love, even if part of that protectiveness stems from their innate determination to maintain control. My heroes do not suffer defiance or disobedience lightly..
However, Kathryn gives her heroes specific guidelines. Even in novels where there is an element of BDSM, Kathryn's hero has no desire to cause the heroine injury, though he does believe pain can be a powerful motivator. That said, Kathryn's stories have nothing to do with abuse, where the protagonist desires to hurt and degrade the female under his charge. The hero's spankings, though painful, are always given with love and a desire to correct undesirable behavior or habits.
Besides writing, Kathryn enjoys traveling, reading and acting in community and regional theaters. She loves working with her hands and spends a lot of time doing crewel as well as creating jewelry and promotional items. Although a passionate lover of animals, Kathryn's current menagerie has been reduced to one stray cat that adopted her and a tank of small, finned entities that say little and eat much.
