Ann wasn’t a person who dreamed of writing when she was a ten-year-old kid. Her mother was an English teacher, so writing and reading lots of different books were a part of her childhood. In her high-school years (a very long time ago now) she won first-place in a national writing competition, and was runner-up in a national poetry-writing contest. So writing was always part of her life. But really, through it all, speed skating was her first love. She was on the ice every chance she got.
She studied Communications and Marketing at university, and guess what. Much of it involved writing and more writing.
Somewhere along the way she thought she’d like to write stories, so bought a few books on Romance writing and sat down to write a book. The thought of romance tales appealed to her. What could be better than happy-ever-afters? Her first effort got a detailed, highly appreciated response from a Mills & Boon editor. She has heeded the advice in that letter ever since.
Now, in the throes of Indie publishing, she’s working with a super designer and web developer, beta reader and critique partner, and lots of others helping her along on this wonderful, inspiring ride.
Ann’s an empty-nester living on Canada’s beautiful Atlantic coast with her husband. At the moment, her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren are a two-hour plane ride away. She sees them every chance she gets.
