The author, passionate about the environment, conservation, and future food security, recently escaped the city life and lives on a sweet chestnut farm in Nannup in the south west of Australia. She raises chestnut fed heritage pigs and heritage sheep and makes sweet chestnut products, creating a lifestyle she hopes her family will continue. Also the author of “Grandy’s Long Walk” a childrens book written to encourage children to reconnect with nature and ask questions about conservation.
In 2002 the author fell off a roof and broke her back. Advised she probably would not walk again, she threw a mental pick up on to the mountain in front of her, and declared to the Universe “I am going to back pack around the world.” Both books, Walking with Angels” and “Grandy’s Long Walk” are the result of long distance treks where she is fulfilling her promise to the Universe.
