F. D. Lee is the author of the best-selling fantasy novels, The Pathways Tree series. A mix of classic blood-and-bone fairy tales with a satirical, Orwellian twist, the Pathways Tree series is a must for anyone who finds the traditional tropes of 'true love' and 'happy ever after' a bit too sugary sweet and simple. Reviewers have compared her writing style to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, as well as Jasper Fforde and Ben Aaronovitch (all of which is a huge compliment!)
Lee is also branching out into SF, with the upcoming release of her stand-alone novel, In The Slip. A more obviously 'dark' novel, In The Slip retains Lee's signature humour and her ability to create flawed characters with real depth and humanity (even when they're always human!)
F. D. Lee lives in London, UK, and grew up in a comic book store. She wrote her undergraduate dissertation on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and her PhD focuses on the representation of women in high fantasy. She is a member of an RPG group where she regularly plays D&D, Pendragon and Cthulhu as well as card- and board games. She is currently obsessed with the new She-Ra reboot. Find her on Twitter and Facebook.
