My name is James Pattersenn Jr. and I want to teach you how to invest and build wealth like the pros do. I have always been smart when it comes to managing my money, yet, I found myself living from paycheck to paycheck for the majority of my adult life as the result of paying the expenses of two or more households and paying medical bills.
Many Americans can point to the financial crisis that struck in 2007 as the turning point that led them down the road to financial disaster. I cannot. My finances were already a mess before the Great Recession struck. I already had more than $20,000 in credit card debt, and I was usually broke the same day that I received my paycheck. I also had very little money saved for retirement and had absolutely no money saved in an emergency fund or for when unexpected expenses arose. Flatly put, I was broke.
Fast forward to the present and things have changed dramatically for me and my situation is totally different from the one that I just described for you. Here’s my current situation as I sit here typing this text.
Since their inception, both of my investment portfolios have outperformed the S&P 500 with the original portfolio being more than tens years old and the newest portfolio being more than six years old. To date, my newest portfolio has achieved a total return of 130.7% and a compound annual rate of return of 17.0% compared to a total return of 111.0% and a compound annual rate of 15.1% for the S&P 500 during the same period.
