A native of Bonne Terre, MO, I am a career journalist, having worked at various newspapers, doing general news and sports in Missouri and Oklahoma.
I got my BA in history/political science with a minor in English at Central Methodist College (now University) in Fayette, MO.
I went back to school in the early 2000s and got my MA in history from Southeast Missouri State University.
I was born in Kaiserslautern, West Germany, where my dad (a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army) was stationed. We returned stateside when I was going on three years old. I lived my entire life from then until 2004 in the southeastern quarter of Missouri. I lived and worked in Oklahoma until returning to Missouri in October 2016.
I accepted Christ in early 1973 and spent much of the 1990s as a volunteer church youth leader.
I enjoy reading, watching movies, writing fiction, posting on Facebook, following politics and playing APBA baseball. I live with my very spoiled part-Siamese cat, Ginger Grant, who has me well-trained by now. My bucket list includes visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, seeing a game at Fenway Park and visiting the battleship Texas.
