A writer since she was able to hold a crayon, Laura finally got around to publishing her first novel, "Ain't Nobody's Bizness," in 2002 (Five Star Women's Fiction). She followed up quickly with a sequel, "I Ain't Superstitious" (2004; Five Star Expressions), then got distracted by shiny things for a while. In 2018 she's thrilled to be back in print with her third Maddie Maxwell mystery, "Ball & Chain," and with her showmance, "Kiss Me, Caitlyn, or, Romancing the Shrew."
Laura earned undergraduate degrees in theater and music back in the last millennium, then received her MA in professional writing in 2005. She works as a webmaster for NOAA Fisheries by day, and is looking forward to having more time to write once she's retired.
Still active in local theater when time allows, Laura lives at Wits End on Cape Cod (Massachusetts) with her husband and a rotund tortie named Jazzbo Brown.
