Oscar Patton is the author of the Satilla County series, eight novels set in south Georgia in the early twentieth century, the transition period from the Old South to the New. Oscar says, "I use history, memory, and imagination to create regional stories with universal themes.: love, hate, greed, generational and racial conflict. As William Faulkner put it, I write about the human heart in conflict with itself." Oscar is a retired college professor of English who lives and writes on his farm in south Georgia.
