Isa Pearl Ritchie is a New Zealand writer based in Wellington. As a child she loved creating imaginary worlds. She has a social science background and has completed a PhD on food sovereignty in Aotearoa. She has written books for both adults and for young people. Her second novel, Fishing for Māui (2018) was named one of the best books of 2018 in the Listener magazine, and was a finalist in the NZ Booklovers Awards.
