Reading a lot of romance novels recently set in the Middle East or Northern Africa made me think back of the days I was in love with my own Arab "sheikh". When I travelled those countries a lot of the people were not that different from my friends. Television had brought the American way of life to even the remotest village. English or French worked as a way to communicate. Nowadays there seems to be a trend to go back to old traditions. However all we see is violence. That made me wonder how it would be if a prince would revert his country back to old ways but for the benefit of his people and without bloodshed. That was how the story "Rosebud and the Sheik" came to life.
