Michael F. Rizzo was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in the first-ring suburbs. He has always had a deep-seated love for the city. When he was young he listened to local rock bands and read local music zines. As a young adult, he loved exploring the city. He finally moved into the city around the same time he started a bicycle messenger company. He had been in the computer field for thirteen years and quit to run the new business. After seven years as a bike messenger in all weather, all year, he sold the company and started a sightseeing/tour business. One of his original tours is still being run by a Buffalo company.
The author started writing in 1990, but that first book, Through The Mayors’ Eyes, did not see publication until 2005. Since then he has released a book almost every other year.
He now lives in the Pacific Northwest with his family.
