Amanda Giorgis was born in Somerset, England. After a career in education and computer systems, she emigrated to New Zealand in 2008 and moved to Canterbury in the beautiful South Island.
Amanda writes while looking out across the flat Canterbury Plains with the snow-capped mountains of the Southern Alps beyond. It is a place where it is easy to find inspiration for stories of the early pioneers, who made this unique land their home.
She shares her home with her husband, Terry and three rescued huntaway dogs, Nemo, Jess and Ted, some chickens, who are as ornamental as they are productive, ten acres of wild garden and the dark skies of the Southern Hemisphere.
‘Shepherd’s Delight’ follows on from her spellbinding debut novel, ‘The Wideawake Hat’ and is the second book in the Applecross Saga.
