Wendolyn R. Goerl was "tail-end Charlie," both of her immediate and extended family. Her first experience with writing was as a four-year-old writing with her eldest sister, who had filled several blank books with poetry. She has written in some capacity every since, mainly science fiction, though she also does enough poetry to put out a chap book every few years. (Said sister also introduced her to visual arts, which she has also pursued in some capacity ever since.) Lately, her publications have been focusing on Great Lakes shipping and history. She also creates instructional material based on her arts and crafts loves, which she publishes under her casual name, Wendy Goerl, to separate them from her more literary pursuits.
