Jeff Fletcher is a musician, author and editor living in Arizona with his wife Samantha.
Having ridden motorcycles on pavement throughout most of the United States and New Zealand, he decided, at age 55, to try off-road long-distance adventure riding. His only previous experience with off-road riding was taking a BMW R100GS PD from Montana to Alaska and up the Pipeline road to Prudhoe Bay. Of course, the pipeline road is well groomed, well-traveled and fairly easy by off road standards. Its biggest hazards are likely the mosquitoes.
Relying on the wisdom and maps of those who pioneered such adventures, he rode the Trans-America Trail east to west and the Continental divide, north to south.
This book chronicles the ups, the downs, the scenery and the endless array of enduring personalities he encountered along the way.
Life is a road. Ride it.
